And so it begins...

Day 1.

Distance travelled: approx. 370 km
Pace: Wondrously Lax. We made stops when we wanted to and took our sweet time.
Highlights: Only paying money for some fruit in Keremeos, using gift cards for gas and snacks, The Hope Slide, A scenic stop in Manning Park for a simple lunch.
You are where? - Osoyoos, BC
Jericho's favorite: going to the beach!!
Malachi's favorite: see above : )

Today was great. We had a slow start, but we arrived at a decent time (5:00 pm) and never felt like we were rushing. The boys have already asked if we're there yet, but it may have been heat-related. We will need to look into a way they can keep cool in the backseat. Maybe nudity?

Nate had some work to catch up on and still has a bit left to do, but for now the plans are to enjoy each other's company and maybe head back to the lake across the street before bed and watch Malachi dive into the water. It's seriously hilarious.

I will say as a person who was given the nickname "leadfoot" in high school, it was a little hard to swallow being passed by EVERYONE. But once I was over it, I settled in and enjoyed the ride.

Special thanks to Trevor at Downes Automotive for putting some special care in Clementine yesterday. She's running great!

  2. hey great to hear along the way, those spray bottles with fans on top work good for staying cool, and just stopping to get wet at a park along the way as well. Yes we did travel without air a few times steve!!
