We left our lovely Banff campground this morning after getting everything packed up. It was a little sad as 5 minutes before it was time to go, Jericho made friends with the neighbour kids. From the campsite we drove up to the Banff Hot Springs and the boys had a very toasty swim while I sat and watched with a coffee and a book.

After a Safeway trip for ice, water and lunch we were on the road headed for Cochrane. We stopped briefly in between rain showers for a quick lunch at Bow River Campground. The bathrooms there were not great, so Mom was the only one who used them.

The drive to Cochrane is quite nice, there are less mountains and WAY more wind. Clementine was pretty hard to control with one hand on the wheel and one hand holding 4th gear in place, but my muscles are getting big! We caught the tail end of a wicked storm and passed through a 3 second torrential rain. From there we met Aunt Dale at a local ice cream shop where she bought all of us a treat.

It was so cute watching Malachi run to her with outstretched arms, this woman he has only met twice but who always sends him a birthday and Christmas gift. I lost count of how many times he hugged her...

We followed her through the outskirts of town to her lovely home and met cousin Jaden again! The boys hadn't seen him since Thailand, but they had a great time colouring, assembling train track, and playing soccer with him.

Once Uncle Hugh was able to get home we had a salmon dinner with spinach salad and strawberries. Pretty gourmet compared to our camp food. We then went outside to play with the dogs as it had finally stopped raining. Everyone was a little apprehensive about how Guiness would be with the boys since he had never played with kids, but each time the boys fell or hurt themselves he would run over and lick it better. Malachi in particular, adored him.

Tomorrow we will head to the Calgary Zoo at some point and from there try and make it to a Drumheller campground. The 13th will be spent at Tyrell Museum. Lots of animals, dead and alive.. coming up!!
